Tuck Into Some New London Venues This September 2023
As we roll into September, the new London openings are still coming in just as hot as this unexpected late Summer weather we’re having. Spend the start of the new season experimenting with some new flavours and atmospheres at these exciting eateries - we’re talking your potential new favourite spot for coffee and natural wine, and a Japanese curry house that is spreading its wings across North London.
To experience two floors of Italian culinary heaven, head down to Long Acre in Covent Garden where you’ll find the all-new Luci. On the brightly-lit ground floor you’ll see a 18-metre long ‘bancone’ counter offering an endless selection of freshly baked goods, which rotate to suit the time of day, with offerings including wood-fired pizzas, sweet pastries, and Luci’s own-roasted coffee alongside a variety of hot and cold lunch items. If an intimate dinner or drinks date is on the cards, make your way upstairs for a sit-down dining experience with an enticing menu that will take you on a journey through Italy with classic dishes and Italian cocktails available to order from the bar. Ah, la bella vita!

Possibly too niche, but have you ever sat in the breezy outdoors of Coal Drops Yard with your delicious curry from Hiden and wished that they had an indoor seating area? Whether your answer was yes, no, or ‘what?’, we’re very pleased to let you know that they have just opened the doors to their intimate, indoor eatery on Stroud Green Road. Ready to serve their authentic Japanese curries to the Finsbury community, visitors can choose from their original beef, mild chicken, or plant-based red lentil with optional add-ons including eggs and kimchi which mix beautifully into the sweet yet savoury, warm rich sauce.

Having become a cult favourite in New York’s Brooklyn, this modern Peruvian restaurant now has a twin in London’s Shoreditch. Its freewheeling and upbeat spirit has been recreated at the very top of the Hoxton Shoreditch hotel with an added bonus of a rooftop dining area that boasts a pretty swanky view of the East London skyline. Llama Inn became renowned in the US for their cocktail menu with the London bar specialising in Pisco and Latin American spirits alongside an international, low-intervention wine list. As for the food, budding diners can expect to see some refreshing ceviche dishes amongst some light snacks and inventive main plates such as pork chops, lomo saltado, and bok choy salad.
