The Best Cheap Eats in London For Under £10

If you’re a lot like us, the age-old question “what shall we cook for tea, or eat for lunch?” will send you into a frenzy. So to avoid grappling for last-minute ideas and cooking all-together, the next and far more attractive option is to dine out. Fear not if you're a little strapped for cash in the lead up to payday though, because we've hand-picked the creme de la creme of eateries offering dishes for under a tenner without compromising on quality. From veggie favourite Rasa N16 to Brick Lane’s 24 hour Beigel Shop, there’s even more to love on the Bindy Street app.

1. Rasa N16, Stoke Newington

What if we told you that you can eat in a restaurant where every single dish costs under £10? Set in a cosy and very pink venue, with an authentic appreciation for the planet, wellbeing, and Kerala-inspired dining, it’s hard to not be enchanted - inside and out.

2. Marugame Udon, Soho

Marugame Udon is a fun and fast-paced Japanese noodle house, with crispy chicken or aubergine katsu curry on a bed of hand-pulled udon in the limelight. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, there’s the exciting option to build your own curry rice or udon bowl for as little as £3.25, where you can add tempura toppings or chicken karaage until your heart's content.

3. Sonora Taqueria, Stoke Newington

Since pulling the shutters on their popular London Fields taco stall last year, Sonora Taqueria have opened their first cosy, bright Mexican restaurant in Stoke Newington. From Thursday to Sunday, you can grab one of their city-famous barbacoa tacos, chorizo quesadillas, and queso fresco burritos - priced around £4-8 each. Expect a very fast, casual affair served on paper plates - as street tacos should be - and drinks too, with non-alcoholic horchata and alcoholic micheladas on the menu.

FYI: as the hype continues amongst London’s foodies far and wide, we recommend arriving at 12pm to avoid the queues that form around the block.

4. Roti King, Euston

If you’re looking for one of the best cheap eats in London, then you better hot-foot it down to Roti King in Euston - the first of their venues to open in London nine years ago. Serving fresh and authentic Malaysian cuisine in a simple, no-frills basement-style setting, you’ll be hard-pressed to spend more than £10 on a main course here, and for a small fee you can BYOB too. 6. What the Pitta

With three branches in London, plus one in Brighton, What the Pitta is pretty much the King of vegan kebabs. Think chunky soya pieces marinated in ‘secret spices’ packed into light, home-baked flatbreads with crunchy salad, soya yoghurt, tzatziki, and houmous served with a side of fries. Heavy as it sounds, it's much lighter on the ol’ purse strings - with a complete meal deal costing close to £10.

9. Beigel Shop Brick Lane

Brought to bustling Brick Lane in 1855, the Beigel Shop is Britain's first original bagel bakery. Even though the crown has definitely been passed down to the next generation of owners since then, their infamous artisanal, boiled bagels continue to be made with the same traditional recipe it started with; so they’ll know their stuff when packing each one with fillings like hot salt beef, salmon and cream cheese, and roast chicken salad. Here's an added sweetener, you can get your hands on a bagel at any hour of the day as they are open 24/7 - 3am snack, anyone?
