What's On This Weekend: 22nd - 23rd April 2023

London, London, London. You’re never one to let us down when it comes to new events, and this April has been no different. Each weekend (without fail), you give us everything we need for a memorable weekend in the city, be it a delicious food festival transporting us to the sunny island of Sicily, or Tattoodo’s Flash Weekender where you can get inked up without having to pay a penny. 1. Refresh Your Look at the Tattoodo Flash Weekender

Celebrating their London launch, app Tattoodo are touching down in Shoreditch for a weekend filled with free tattoos, the chance to meet with ten of the city’s best artists, fabulous entertainment, and delicious drinks courtesy of Tattoodo's partner Sailor Jerry. Reserve your free ticket to join in with all the fun, and if you queue up early, you may be able to get yourself a walk-in tattoo for free!

2. Grab a Free Gelato Burger from Badiani

Treat yourself this week by heading to Badiani and grabbing one of their Gelato Burger specials for free. 3. Relax on The Somerset House Terrace with San Miguel

To say hello to the warmer months of the year, Somerset House have set up their San Miguel Terrace, the perfect place to soak up the sun on a relaxed afternoon. The bright and airy space is decorated with soft lighting, delicate florals, and a sleek bar area to achieve that dreamy spring and summer look. Be sure to drop by soon for an ice cold pint of beer as well as indulgent sharing boards and stone-baked flatbreads.

4. Feel Cultured at Hilma af Klint & Piet Mondrian: Forms of Life

At Tate Modern's latest exhibition, you'll explore breathtaking works of art from two pioneering modern artists: Hilma af Klint and Piet Mondrian. During the exhibition, you'll have a rare chance to see Mondrian's flower paintings that are rarely exhibited, as well as Klint's large-scale, otherworldly paintings she believed were commissioned by higher powers.

5. Get Caffeinated at The London Coffee Festival

To celebrate the city's vibrant coffee scene, you've got to grab tickets for the 2023 London Coffee Festival. During the jam-packed event, you'll explore over 250 artisan coffee and gourmet stalls, enjoy delicious tastings, take part in interactive workshops, be able to grab drinks from the Smirnoff Cocktail Bar, and watch demonstrations from world-class baristas - every coffee lover's dream!

6. Play Free Mini Golf at Canary Wharf

It's that time of the year again! Free mini golf is back at Canary Wharf for the warmer months of the year. A wonderful walk-in activity at the heart of Montgomery Square, bring your friends or colleagues over to the colourful course and queue up for a fun game of mini golf (and see if you can get a hole in one along the way). This time, artists Craig Redman and Karl Maierthe designed the kaleidoscopic installation featuring geometric patterns and even little smiley faces on the golf balls.

7. Celebrate Saint George’s Day at Trafalgar Square

Back for another year of festivities, Trafalgar Square will be the site for lively Saint George's Day celebrations this week. This year's free event will be hosted by Zoe Hardman, the British television presenter, actress, and broadcaster at Hart Radio. Highlights from the upcoming event include a silent disco, a Horrible Histories workshop, folk musicians and DJs on the main stage, mind-blowing magicians, and amazing speed painters.

8. Head up to the Reopened Roof East

Reopening this spring, Roof East is every Londoner's favourite rooftop playground complete with stellar street food from vendors like Cheeky Burger and Piddaji, delicious drinks from the bar, their amazing film club, plenty of classic games like Jenga and Connect 4, and fun events throughout the year. Come here with friends to relax until the sun goes down.

9. Be Transported to Paradise at SICILYfest

Bringing sunny Sicily to London, SICILYfest is a unique food festival allowing you to experience the delightful tastes, scents, and colours of the Italian island. During the experience, you'll sip on delicious wines from the finest Sicilian wineries, sample lots of delicious food from the region, take part in masterclasses where you'll learn from top chefs, and dance away to music from the likes of composer Lello Analfino and musical group Sud Sound System.

10. Cheer on Runners at the London Marathon

Once again, thousands of runners will be taking to the city streets for the historic Marathon. Whether you know someone who's competing or are simply curious about the event, this is your chance to watch the great race. Starting from 9:30am, the triumphant race will begin in the Greenwich and Blackheath area, ending at The Mall by Buckingham Palace. Wake up early, grab a hot drink, and enjoy this iconic marathon.
