London's Best Venues to Celebrate Pride Month 2023

Along with the sunshine and blue skies, June also brings about the start of Pride Month here in London. Apart from the parades, events, and colourful parties, this month is all about celebrating the progress towards equality, the constant fight for equal LGBTQ+ rights, and ultimately the celebration of love for all. With this year’s theme being ‘Never March Alone: Championing Trans Allyship’, we’ve created a guide with some businesses around London that are run by and for the LGBTQ+ community. From the oldest LGBTQ+ bookstore to the UK's first national LGBTQ+ museum, read our top places to celebrate Pride Month 2023.

Gay’s The Word

Gay’s The Word have been proudly supporting the LGBTQ+ community since 1979, making it the UK’s oldest LGBTQ+ bookshop around. Set up by a group of gay socialists, the bookstore has become renowned for its extensive collection of books and monthly meetings, which are organised by Trans London and the London LGBT Book Group. Check out more about their amazing community here!

Queer Britain

Celebrate Pride Month by visiting Queer Britain, the UK's first national LGBTQ+ museum that is brimming with exhibits tracing back the country's rich history of gender and sexuality. With free entry (although donations are supported), Queer Britain is a safe space for everyone regardless of gender or sexuality.

One of London’s signature LGBTQ+ venues, The Glory runs a variety of shows and events each week, ranging from spectacular club nights to killer cabaret performances. With plenty of chilled drinks and cocktails available at the bar and a friendly community spirit, you know where to go for quality entertainment this Pride Month.

Comptons

Comptons, also known as the Grand Dame of Soho, became a safe haven for gay men when it established itself in 1986 and is now the heart and soul of London's LGBTQIA+ scene. With the friendliest service around, a night at Comptons is the perfect way to celebrate Pride Month.
