At the British Museum's latest exhibition, discover what life was like for the soldiers of the Roman Empire in settled military communities from Scotland to the Red Sea. The exhibition features some of the oldest surviving handwritten documents in Britain, including letters written on papyri and the Vindolanda tablets, shedding a light on what daily life was like for the soldiers and the women, children, and enslaved who accompanied them.
